Random update post!!

Hello lovelies!!
Today I'm going to do an update for all the happenings during this few months of hiatus.. Hmmm... Well not really hiatus but just decide to stay out of the social media scene... =D
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Well, there are lots of changes in my life for the mere 5 to 6 months i would say.. Be it in relationships, work, lifestyle and even my character!! Yep!! Even character changes! Please don't be surprize! So this post is not going to bore you with long grandma story, but just a brief summaries to avoid question marks and surprises! And the hassle to explain every single time.. Because I'm already enjoying every single moments now and then! =)

Hmmmmm... Which should I start off with?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

1. WORK!!!

Alright, I decided to start off with work because no doubt it's my number 1 priority now! In this case, it's classified as my career now! WHY? My background is a designer, I used to do graphic design, furniture design as well as interior design. And I graduated with a diploma in industrial design.

But.......

Now, I'm a personal weight management coach! I help people to lose weight, gain weight as well as get healthy! Also supporting my career, I'm a certified Zumba instructor! It's like WHAT?!?!? Why such a big change? Hmmm...

I can only say I still love designing and I do take in freelance jobs still but the satisfaction from my customers and VIPs changes and results is irreplaceable. It's so magical!! From their joy and happiness to their challenges and problems were the drive to keep me going and pushes me to help them achieve their goals and reach out to more people who I didn't help! Because everyone deserve to live a better and healthier life! Every single one.....

Most Importantly, ever since I'm seriously building my business, my days were majority happy and positive! Isn't that the minimal thing we need to achieve in life?

And how one can get so much love and care from my mentors and even from my daddy while being first time on stage sharing my story?!

2. RELATIONSHIP!!!

Well this is the most asked question for the past few months and I must really really be grateful to my parents, my sister and also my 2 awesome coaches who been standing by my side from day 1 supporting me and pulling me up again... =)

So the story is.... the 7 years of relationship ended and the wedding was called off because of a betrayal. There are lots of questions .... why end? can't resolve? no way?

So the answer is.. why ask me? A relationship takes 2 hands to clap, if 1 hand stopped, there will be no sound from the clapping.. And the last thing I can forgive is betrayal. Because, it have been happening to me for all my relationships.. OK, can call me sway lah... but yea... that's it.. and nope I don't hate guys and I atill prefer bananas... LOL !!

And lastly, before I end this part, I'm thankful an "angel" appeared to support me and accompanied me through this shit especially my super extreme thoughts and insecurities. Someone as weird as me... haha.. We have too much in common that sometimes, we scared ourselves too... =P My best buddy, companion, Personal Assistant, Accountant, Financial Planner, Fitness mentor , my boyfriend......

Well, a rotten tree doesn't meant the forest is rotten and so I restarted again with a different mindset... So, please remember the face ar.. its a different person now. Thank you very much!! LOL!!!

And this:

is not what you think it is.. haha...

3. CHARACTERS!!!

Well, I din't really notice it myself previously until recently... I used to be a 水扁啦 kind of person.. meaning anything also can, no goals and just want to pass-by like an average girl. And I really felt a waste of my life previously... LOL, but its ok, I'm enjoying every bits now!!

I've been setting goals and living to achieve my dreams and goals. My thoughts were different too and this is when I felt I'm living a life to the fullest!! there must be a purpose why we are here. Right? if not, whats the point of living if we have no direction in our lives? Who will be responsible to our one and only life? Only ourselves. If we don't do any change, there will be no change in our life..

So dare to dream and dare to achieve them!

Well, this part I can't really explain but perhaps stay with me more often and you will discover it! Hahaha...=]

4. SIZE!!!

HA... its not a new thing... But I've been trying to lose my weight for my entire life and it was my yearly resolution that never ever do it until this year! I finally lost quite a bit of weight from 93kg to now a 68kg and finally reshaped from a XXXL to a size M!

So it's not an end yet, I'm going for my second round of transformation so... please encourage and motivate me too!! It just another 10kg and I want to achieve it by March!! Lets do it together!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

So I guess its about there? Part 3 and 4 is a change that is still happening so I'm not too sure how well it can be written unless you start to follow me now and get all the updates frequently over here as well as over at my other social media! =D like my Instagram, twitter, Facebook as well as YouTube!!

With this, I shall end this random post and stay tuned for my next post!

With lots and lots and lots of love,
Akemi

A nightmare

Hello everyone!

I guess I'm more prepared to write this post as compared to last week when something bad happened to me.

I took leave 2 weeks ago over the weekends for a performance and because I know I need a well deserved rest after all the hectic schedule in work and for personal stuff... I had enough rest and well powered up for a new push for work on Monday. As I woke up,  I checked on my phone (that's my daily routine ) and I saw my boss's text.

I thought to myself that he might be coming late or might be absence for work. But to my dismay,  it was something else that I never thought it will be. Something that changes my life *at least for now * . A message which just mentioned :

" because of issues with the landlord, the showroom will be closed till problem resolved. "

I'm of course in total shock and I couldn't believe my eyes. I went out of my room and asked my dad to read it for me.. and true enough It's happening to me just like this. Well, to be honest, I couldn't believe it. Even till now, it feels like an nightmare to me and my alarm will ring in awhile to wake me up for work. BUT,  I know it will not happen anymore.

I've been telling people around me that he was the best boss I ever met. And my job was really at ease. I love my job and see myself working with him for a period of time. Now, everything just smashed and worst of all, I couldn't reach him anymore.

No explanations and no goodbyes.

It simply just ended like this.

However, I moved on and started looking for jobs. Luckily, I got myself a job on Monday and basically, I will be doing similar work with what I did previously. Happy and worried of course. But I hope it is the one that I would stay for long.

GOOD LUCK TO ME!!!

The drama at work....

Last week a big drama happened in our showroom!

Something that you will only see in movie setting, happened right in front of me and the story goes like this:

I'm the only one (full-time) in my office. The part time cleaner was doing his cleaning and the sales representative was luckily preparing his documents while waiting for the boss to come in [normally the sales rep don't come to our showroom ]. Suddenly, the sales rep called out for my name and the PT cleaner came running to my room and said:

"Somebody ran into your showroom!!"

"HUH??!? What do you meant?"
I said while walking to the main entrance area thinking there's a client who need my attention.
There was this ang moh guy panicking hiding behind our displays.

Been thinking he was a client, I asked: " How can I assist you? "

" Please help me!!! Those guys are trying to kill me!!"
The AMG said panic-lily.

I stunted for a moment and asked him to repeat again. I scanned him with my eyes from head to toe, realizing his shorts was undone with a huge crotch under his pants! The first impression that came to my mind was he might just raped somebody and trying to escape for his life!! So, I turned to the sales rep and ask him what had happened since all the while he was at the entrance doing his stuff.

"I'm not sure what had happened but he just ran in to hide!"
Said my sales rep.

" Who are the one trying to kill you??"
I asked the AMG as I did not see anyone else there accept himself

" Those 2 guys outside!! And please help me call the police!!"
He claimed.

I looked out to the walkway, there were only our building's security guys standing outside. *confused*

" They were the building security not some other strangers or mafias you claimed they were! "
My sales rep said.

"No they were the one trying to kill me!! Please help me!! Please call the police!!"
He screamed.

I'm afraid and I want to try to chase him out of our showroom but FAILED! So I ask him to explain to me the whole story so I could help him.

" I were checking out of my hotel and wanted to get to the airport. And there were mafias posing as policemen with guns trying to follow me and take my life! Because I knew something that I shouldn't. So I ran and escape!! PLEASE CALL THE POLICE!! I want to talk to them and I want to go back to my country."
The AMG claimed~

Even more unbelievable when its Singapore here, I walked out and talked to the security guards outside and check if there were any suspicious person outside. There was no one and according to the guards, he actually behaved like he was when he was at level 1, going into everyone's retail shops and they had been following him since then.

So maybe he was on drugs or something, my sales rep and I tried to chase him out. At that moment, he pointed at the hairdresser opposite our showroom saying they were there preparing to kill him when he step out of our showroom.

Getting all ridiculous to even explain to him, he suddenly got agitated and he tried to run into our office area when there were knifes in one of our display. I got panicked and without thinking much, I chased after him to stop him!

" I NEED TO GET OUT!!!!!"
He screamed

" THERE IS ONLY AN EXIT IN FRONT!!!"
I screamed while trying to grab him!

He shook off my hands and kicked one of our fixed glass panels!! *like some Jackie Chan movie* All worried, and I seriously need help desperately, because he is definitely too strong for me~ The security guard in charged got angry and came running to the AMG and grabbed him!

They began fighting in our showroom, the security guard's shirt was torn and the AMG's face were covered with bruises. At one time, the AMG managed to run out of our showroom and he left all his belongings in our showroom. The guard immediately chased after him and they continued their fight outside. *pheww*

Awhile later, the policemen came and collected his belongings away and got him to the station. The drama finally ended with a few stains on our floor and displays. But luckily, nothing broken nor our lives endangered though I'm shivering and my heart was beating damned fast~

For that moment, I thought I were brave but I'm actually not!

We dated...

We've been together for 4 years now going 5th this November.
Staying together for the past 4 years and never once left each other for more than a week.
Even if we traveled, we are still.... together.

Now... my house is undergoing renovation and no place could accommodate both of us at a time.
We are separated and we have to be separated for at least a month.

The first few days were a pain to me.
For the first time, I felt something was missing which I never felt before.
Later, because of my dance commitments, we can't even meet for the whole last week!

Finally, the show was over last Saturday.
He asked and we went dating yesterday!
I couldn't remember when was our last date,
where he will sent me home after or a walk with my hand around his arm.

We just had a dinner, catch up with each other life for the pass few weeks and he sent me home.
YES, it was short.
But I'm really loving it. It was as though we are back to 4 years ago when we just got together.

I don't need any big or expensive actions to be happy because I prefer it to be simple and thoughtful.

Thank you for the date !!

I am so happy for her~

3 years back, my bestie left us to further her studies in US. I blogged about it here too. We are so emotional during her send off ,but actually, even if I read the post I blogged, I'm still sad about it.

I could still remember then , she struggled to decide which undergraduate courses to take and I accompanied her to various open house. She definitely took a hard time on deciding the undergraduate programs because each and every universities have their individual undergraduate programs that are so unique and appealing too. Graduates are definitely spoiled for choices.

But time really flies and she is graduating this May. On my birthday some more!  See ~ this is our fate. I'm so happy for her achievements and sad at the same time too. Because she will be pursuing her master at US before returning home and she won't be back anytime soon. ::T____T::

I missed her so much....

o(╯□╰)o

and I know I've been saying I wanted to fly there and visit her since 3 years ago but I never made it. I'm sure one day I'll visit her before any big commitments in the future!

Hope I am really really able to fulfill this dream holiday to US by next year winter and find her!

One love, One team and One big family... THANK YOU!!

Last weekend was the best weekend for me!

My dream came true and I performed with the fellow ragga people in OSCHOOL RECITAL!! It is just a little small dream of mine for my love of dance. And I really never thought that it will came true until last weekend.

Ever since when I fell deeply in love with dancehall/raggae last year, I tried to went for the audition but I failed. Nevertheless, I did not give up (even though I have the intention), and went for the audition this year and I FINALLY GOT IN!!

The show was a great success! and I'm proud of myself for being able to make it through but of course I've still a lot to improve on.

But most importantly, without these people, I won't be who I am on the stage~ They made me forget my sadness of losing 2 important person during the 2 months of practice. They willing to push and help each other to shine on stage, and we definitely own it!

Not forgetting the 2 choreographers, CaroLum. They are the best mentor I ever had! I've learnt so much stuff from them! and they pushes and motivated me, to believe I can do it when I doubt myself! There are just so much to thank them. When they first gave me the chance to be part of them, pushes and believe in me during practices and lastly pushes us and made us shine on stage!

Even though it's over now, I'll always not forget the effort I've put in and I'll put in more effort in future even for classes!

*touch wood* I'll have no regrets now IF I can't dance again after my checks. I wish I could quickly recuperate and I'm all well again to dance. Please let me dance again soon... T__T

Grandma, I miss you...

Everything ended after yesterday's cremation.

Grandma's happy and joyful characters will be left deeply in me. I'll always remember this picture we last took and the moment you finally opened your eyes when I called you.

To the always happy and smiling grandma, I miss you. ='/

Dance & me...

Hello people!! =)
Last Saturday, we have had our 2nd vetting for the recital in Oschool. It was quite bad. I can't feel my team at all even for the 2nd try. Quite sad to say... And I'm not sure why I can't bring up the confidence level too.

After vetting, we continued our usual dance practice, where Carol also changed bits and pieces for the choreography. New back roll stunts... and for a moment, I gave up thinking I will not be able to do it. Because last year May actually tried and teach me but I can't do it. BUT, who knows, I quietly tried it very slowly and.... tada!! I DID IT!!! very shocking still...

-CREDIT-

** However, when try with the song, I failed...LOL..

The super duper long dance practice ended.. and while I'm bathing, I began to think about dance and me..LOL~ *very random one*

and I thought..

"If I had continued dancing since primary school (I used to be a Chinese dancer in school), how far will I be today?"

Doing all the stunts for reggae will it be easy peasy for me? Considering I'm trained on the stunts back in primary school.

Back then, we are trained to do the "bridge"..

-CREDIT-

.. from standing position to the "bridge" and walked in this pose...

Also, splits...

-CREDIT-

... In any directions.. Front or sides, slow or fast..

Will I be able to do it without any difficulties if I had continue dancing then?? and the question came back to..

"If I did not fall on my back when I'm primary 5, will I still be dancing then??"

If I do not have any back injury complication, will I still dance?? This is a question I guess I will never get an answer. And is something that I regretted very very very much. It also takes me quite a few years to come to realize either than drawing/design, dance is also my everything.

My tears dropped when my design failed or rejected and I teared too when I failed to get in recital last year. Its everything to me. When I'm happy or sad, dancing just makes me happy and forgets everything. For a few years I've built the confidence and strive to be where I am today in dance.

"LOOK~ I'm performing again after so long??!!!"  YET, this happiness does not stay long.

I really really really really hope, it does not end here because I still can't give up dancing yet. PLEASE DON'T TAKE DANCE AWAY FROM ME!! At least not now...

Alright, I'm not sure what I'm writing now... probably just some messed up, random thoughts that I wanted to rant.. I've been moody these days because I've been having tough fight with myself. But at least I know, even if it is my last performance, I wanted to give my best shot and enjoy every moments of it! And no matter what, I'll try to go back dance again!!

Like the picture above, " NO!! I MUST DANCE!!"

7 days of wake...

Everything happened and ended with a blink...

It hit quite hard on me as I always wanted to tighten the relationship with my grandparents ever since my maternal grandfather left us before I could say anything to him..

But somehow, there seems a barrier or something that is stopping me. Something that I have to overcome fast before I lose it again.

Last September was a hard one for me and my family. My ah gong fainted and was admitted to the hospital. Doctor's comments then wasn't positive, 2 weeks of survival if he still rejects dialysis.

He was a tough man I must say...
"Nothings wrong" he would say to comfort/ make us less worried. But my heart aches... because I could only hear his voice getting weaker and weaker and at last... he lost all his strength few days after he was brought back home.

That very morning, right before I leave my house for work, I picked up a call from my aunt and I broke the news to my dad.

We prepared and went to my ah gong's house. I heard sniffing sounds when I reached and I told myself to hang it there because I know this would be the best for him.

Walked into his room and looked at him one more time. I touched him and said in my heart, " I love you, ah gong... and you will be at a better place~".

We held 7 days of wake, little more days then the normal as our family is pretty huge and he was also once a businessman and the founder of a clan and we expect quite a lot of people visiting.

The last 7 days with ah gong...

As we need to take care of the wake, we "worked" on shifts with our uncles and aunties. The grandchildren take turns to overnight for the 7 days and one of our cousin got this "bed" for us.

Lots of wreaths flowers and blankets from visitors.

Blanket from the Aljunied GRC.

This represent the individual clans/associations. Some were under my ah gong and others were my first uncle's.

The front of a Taoist wake.

There were 2 group of associations representatives who came and played the instruments for ah gong. I understood from my dad that ah gong used to love the songs. They played different type of music and I can't remember their names for it. But, they were different because it originate from different province of China.

One of the instruments: "ya kar" - It means coconut shell in Hokkien because it is made of coconut shell.

"Production" department...

"Finance" department...

A picture with my nephews..

The night I overnight with the rest of my cousins...

We challenged to fold jin shan for ah gong.

Dear over night with me at the wake too and he completed himself a full bag of papers.

Washing the dishes too, so next day uncles and aunties do not have to worry about it.

The last night.....

The last dinner together before we start our prayers.

While waiting for the prayers to start.

Ah gong's great grand children.

And on the last day, it was of course the most painful day for us.

The last time to we see ah gong.

Band engaged by the son-in-laws.

All the grandchildren forked out money to engage lion dance troupe to send ah gong. The last thing we did for him and it is also his favorite.

All mum prepared this leg padding for us to send ah gong off as we gonna walk a very long distance for the send off.
Lastly, someone posted a video on youtube for the send off:

Ah gong was cemented at Mandai Crematorium Columbarium. The pain of losing him and the pain when we see his coffin being pushed to cement stayed clearly in my mind.

I'm thankful for being his grand daughter and be in Poh family. Though the last few days he couldn't remember my name, I'll always remember the last words we spoke.

The next day, we collected his ashes and placed in the temple and packed his and ah ma stuff.

A photo of ah gong & ah ma when they were young.

The phone card they used.
Their belongings I'm keeping

Found a picture when daddy & mummy know each other for a month ... DATING!!!

Most of their grandchildren and ah gong and ah ma...

I really feel that family relations are very important. I felt the bonding from my father and his siblings and from the whole Poh family. Stories from daddy and cousins, old days pictures...

I really gonna miss the times we are together during chinese new year eves when we are much more younger. The bond and the crowd... Now, both ah gong and ah ma have gone to a better place, I really hope that this very strong bond will not fade off as the times come by and I'm sure its something ah gong is wishing for too.
