One love, One team and One big family... THANK YOU!!

Last weekend was the best weekend for me!

My dream came true and I performed with the fellow ragga people in OSCHOOL RECITAL!! It is just a little small dream of mine for my love of dance. And I really never thought that it will came true until last weekend.

Ever since when I fell deeply in love with dancehall/raggae last year, I tried to went for the audition but I failed. Nevertheless, I did not give up (even though I have the intention), and went for the audition this year and I FINALLY GOT IN!!

The show was a great success! and I'm proud of myself for being able to make it through but of course I've still a lot to improve on.

But most importantly, without these people, I won't be who I am on the stage~ They made me forget my sadness of losing 2 important person during the 2 months of practice. They willing to push and help each other to shine on stage, and we definitely own it!

Not forgetting the 2 choreographers, CaroLum. They are the best mentor I ever had! I've learnt so much stuff from them! and they pushes and motivated me, to believe I can do it when I doubt myself! There are just so much to thank them. When they first gave me the chance to be part of them, pushes and believe in me during practices and lastly pushes us and made us shine on stage!

Even though it's over now, I'll always not forget the effort I've put in and I'll put in more effort in future even for classes!

*touch wood* I'll have no regrets now IF I can't dance again after my checks. I wish I could quickly recuperate and I'm all well again to dance. Please let me dance again soon... T__T

Dance & me...

Hello people!! =)
Last Saturday, we have had our 2nd vetting for the recital in Oschool. It was quite bad. I can't feel my team at all even for the 2nd try. Quite sad to say... And I'm not sure why I can't bring up the confidence level too.

After vetting, we continued our usual dance practice, where Carol also changed bits and pieces for the choreography. New back roll stunts... and for a moment, I gave up thinking I will not be able to do it. Because last year May actually tried and teach me but I can't do it. BUT, who knows, I quietly tried it very slowly and.... tada!! I DID IT!!! very shocking still...

** However, when try with the song, I failed...LOL..

The super duper long dance practice ended.. and while I'm bathing, I began to think about dance and me..LOL~ *very random one*

and I thought..

"If I had continued dancing since primary school (I used to be a Chinese dancer in school), how far will I be today?"

Doing all the stunts for reggae will it be easy peasy for me? Considering I'm trained on the stunts back in primary school.

Back then, we are trained to do the "bridge"..

.. from standing position to the "bridge" and walked in this pose...

Also, splits...

-CREDIT-

... In any directions.. Front or sides, slow or fast..

Will I be able to do it without any difficulties if I had continue dancing then?? and the question came back to..

"If I did not fall on my back when I'm primary 5, will I still be dancing then??"

If I do not have any back injury complication, will I still dance?? This is a question I guess I will never get an answer. And is something that I regretted very very very much. It also takes me quite a few years to come to realize either than drawing/design, dance is also my everything.

My tears dropped when my design failed or rejected and I teared too when I failed to get in recital last year. Its everything to me. When I'm happy or sad, dancing just makes me happy and forgets everything. For a few years I've built the confidence and strive to be where I am today in dance.

"LOOK~ I'm performing again after so long??!!!"  YET, this happiness does not stay long.

I really really really really hope, it does not end here because I still can't give up dancing yet. PLEASE DON'T TAKE DANCE AWAY FROM ME!! At least not now...

Alright, I'm not sure what I'm writing now... probably just some messed up, random thoughts that I wanted to rant.. I've been moody these days because I've been having tough fight with myself. But at least I know, even if it is my last performance, I wanted to give my best shot and enjoy every moments of it! And no matter what, I'll try to go back dance again!!

Like the picture above, " NO!! I MUST DANCE!!"

Dance life and I've made it

After "Stage Without Borders" last Christmas, I've been hoping to strive for another performance on stage!!

Finally there's a chance!

My heart flutters and I'm worried too~ Because no matter what, I'm still not confident enough to take the challenge. I always mind my size and if I'll be clumsy on stage. I wondered how would I look like on the stage.Ugly?? ball-like?? or a distraction of the other dancers.

But this time round, I tried and overcome my fear and gave it a shot. Maybe because I already knew the choreographers as friends before the recital and I'm probably more comfortable??

* Back to basics
* Discipline training
* Learning session from other dancers
... is part of the entire training. It simply pushes me to the next level in dance.

If you miss my last performance, you can watch it here:

I'm glad I overcame my fear and joined it because at least I've the slightest of confidence now to aim for my dream dance performance, Oschool Recital.

More behind the scene photos....

Getting all hyped up early in the morning during the performance day!!

My hair for the performance and below are my hairstylist!! hahahaha...

#1 hairstylist: Shina~ She is uber good with braids!!

#2 hairstylist: Asyraf.. He in charged of my ponytail to make it stand!!!

Photo with this cute lil boy!! he damned cute!! mad <3 td="td">

One of the Choreographer!! SHAUNA!! she is damned awesome~ and she is my inspiration too!! <3 her="her" td="td">

Dinner after the performance!!
My poly cliques who came and supported me!! touched and thank you so much!!!

The entire experience was damned fun too! Maybe because I finally got to dance with my cliques and we are simply a crazy bunch of people. Of course, knowing new crazily fun people like Fiona, Shanice, Dory, Hani, Raizan, Etc...

I definitely have more confidence now!! Until the extreme of going to the audition for O school recital this year!! Crazy right??!?!

Despite my failure last year which I'm very sad about, I still went ahead for the audition this year. Hahahaha... The "NEVER SAY DIE" attitude, like a thick skin only.. But who cares. Even if I failed, at least I tried.

Never try and you'll never know right??!?!

I clearly remember how it was like during the audition! The atmosphere is just DA bomb!! Dance hall  reggae is all about dancing together and the feel~

I do not know why, there's just only a slight anxiety this year as compared to last year. And I FELT IT!!! I FELT THE DANCE!!! It is more like an enjoyment rather than an audition. During that moment, I'm thinking if I sway sway did not get in again, I will not regret coming for the audition because I truly enjoyed the process!!

1-2 weeks passed and its the result! I remembered May and I was on our bus ride home after practice and we checked out the results! I felt sad at first because I only saw her name and a few of those familar names. After May double checked, she also did not see my name~ At the brim of crying, I determined to triple check it again and I SAW IT!!! I'M IN!!!! OMG... Is like my dream came true!!

We screamed for joy on the bus and hugged each other. Tears of happiness dropped and I hopped back home! Hahahaha... Kinda dramatic but I'm indeed that mad happy about it!

May is so nice..As I have some back condition, she described the tough training process she had last year so I could prepare myself for the coming one.

As this is a back dated update, the training actually started about 7 weeks ago and we just had our first vetting 2 weeks ago. Its kinda stressful as the dancers standard is really high and I also have my own expectation to meet. (especially my sucky stamina!!) Hah. PLUS, the choreo is crazy!!!

Ok, Its kinda long now due to my excitement. I SHOULD STOP NOW!! But before that, O school Recital tickets are now open now!!

Grab them now before its gone! As its a seated tickets, good seating are selling fast

SHADED black/red ones are taken.. :(
See no joke right, I took this picture last week! and its only OCTOBER when the show is DECEMBER!!

SO GET YOURS NOW BEFORE YOU REGRET!!!
