One love, One team and One big family... THANK YOU!!

Last weekend was the best weekend for me!

My dream came true and I performed with the fellow ragga people in OSCHOOL RECITAL!! It is just a little small dream of mine for my love of dance. And I really never thought that it will came true until last weekend.

Ever since when I fell deeply in love with dancehall/raggae last year, I tried to went for the audition but I failed. Nevertheless, I did not give up (even though I have the intention), and went for the audition this year and I FINALLY GOT IN!!

The show was a great success! and I'm proud of myself for being able to make it through but of course I've still a lot to improve on.

But most importantly, without these people, I won't be who I am on the stage~ They made me forget my sadness of losing 2 important person during the 2 months of practice. They willing to push and help each other to shine on stage, and we definitely own it!

Not forgetting the 2 choreographers, CaroLum. They are the best mentor I ever had! I've learnt so much stuff from them! and they pushes and motivated me, to believe I can do it when I doubt myself! There are just so much to thank them. When they first gave me the chance to be part of them, pushes and believe in me during practices and lastly pushes us and made us shine on stage!

Even though it's over now, I'll always not forget the effort I've put in and I'll put in more effort in future even for classes!

*touch wood* I'll have no regrets now IF I can't dance again after my checks. I wish I could quickly recuperate and I'm all well again to dance. Please let me dance again soon... T__T

I'm addicted and I love!!!

Everyone gave me the question mark face when I said I dance "DANCEHALL"~

It was originated from Jamaica, where they just dance anything freely to the music. Its like a very random thing but the dance is just like in their blood and it can just flow freely wherever the music are played. Its like a party dance!!

So what I'm so addicted and love that I wanna blog?

It is this amazing dancer, LAURE COURTELLEMONT -
that always got me so inspired!!

WATCH THIS:

This is just one of her videos~

She is just so good at it and every time I watched her video, it just make me wanna dance too!! The posture and her style is just so nice!!!

Lastly, and randomly, I'm also sooooooooo addicted to the song in the video~

Mavado ft Stacious- Come into my Room

Ok, It just a random confession~

Back to reality

Hello everybody...I'm BACK from Hong kong!!! Ok, I'm actually back on Tuesday already. The trip was fun, ate a lot of stuff *mega fat fat* . But because its turning winter soon, all the clothes they have were winter wear, therefore, I'm unable to get a lot of stuff. No doubt, It's still fun though. =)

I'll blog more in details for the trip in another post. However, today I'm gonna share my new blog that I owned. In that blog, I'll share all my SECRET RECIPE!!

If you don't know, I'm actually a lover for baking. BUT, I CANT COOK FOR NUTS!!! no joke. I just know how to cook maggi mee only like recently!! YAH!! RECENTLY at the age of 24~ =(

I actually started baking since when i'm like 11 -12 years old? I learnt it from my aunt when I stayed at her house during school breaks. Slowly, I started baking at home after the boy gave me an oven for my 21st birthday present~ I've bake a few stuff before and I decided to SHARE!!

You can check out my baking blog at:

Dance & me...

Hello people!! =)
Last Saturday, we have had our 2nd vetting for the recital in Oschool. It was quite bad. I can't feel my team at all even for the 2nd try. Quite sad to say... And I'm not sure why I can't bring up the confidence level too.

After vetting, we continued our usual dance practice, where Carol also changed bits and pieces for the choreography. New back roll stunts... and for a moment, I gave up thinking I will not be able to do it. Because last year May actually tried and teach me but I can't do it. BUT, who knows, I quietly tried it very slowly and.... tada!! I DID IT!!! very shocking still...

-CREDIT-

** However, when try with the song, I failed...LOL..

The super duper long dance practice ended.. and while I'm bathing, I began to think about dance and me..LOL~ *very random one*

and I thought..

"If I had continued dancing since primary school (I used to be a Chinese dancer in school), how far will I be today?"

Doing all the stunts for reggae will it be easy peasy for me? Considering I'm trained on the stunts back in primary school.

Back then, we are trained to do the "bridge"..

-CREDIT-

.. from standing position to the "bridge" and walked in this pose...

Also, splits...

-CREDIT-

... In any directions.. Front or sides, slow or fast..

Will I be able to do it without any difficulties if I had continue dancing then?? and the question came back to..

"If I did not fall on my back when I'm primary 5, will I still be dancing then??"

If I do not have any back injury complication, will I still dance?? This is a question I guess I will never get an answer. And is something that I regretted very very very much. It also takes me quite a few years to come to realize either than drawing/design, dance is also my everything.

My tears dropped when my design failed or rejected and I teared too when I failed to get in recital last year. Its everything to me. When I'm happy or sad, dancing just makes me happy and forgets everything. For a few years I've built the confidence and strive to be where I am today in dance.

"LOOK~ I'm performing again after so long??!!!"  YET, this happiness does not stay long.

I really really really really hope, it does not end here because I still can't give up dancing yet. PLEASE DON'T TAKE DANCE AWAY FROM ME!! At least not now...

Alright, I'm not sure what I'm writing now... probably just some messed up, random thoughts that I wanted to rant.. I've been moody these days because I've been having tough fight with myself. But at least I know, even if it is my last performance, I wanted to give my best shot and enjoy every moments of it! And no matter what, I'll try to go back dance again!!

Like the picture above, " NO!! I MUST DANCE!!"

I'm flying on a jet plane during our 4th anniversary!!!

Whoohoo... I'm flying off again next week...

I'm VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY EXCITED!!

Because firstly, it is to a country I never been to~ HONG KONG!!
And I always wanted to visit the place because I love the scenes in HK drama! The old old streets.. shops signage all over the place.. their old old cafes.. OMG!! Just thinking about it make me excited~ *mountain tortoise mood on*

Secondly, we are flying on OUR 4TH ANNIVERSARY!!!
Downside is, this is the boy's company annual trip so its not just us going but with all his colleagues.  But who cares, as long we are going together it makes no difference for me~ Hahaha...

The excitement of celebrating our anniversary on another plot of land is just great! PLUS, its free for him and I'm only paying at a minimum price for something premium *giam siap to the max*~ Its a stone killing 2 birds!!

Now, because its our first trip to HK, any tips for me? Like its budget? What to expect and stuff? OR what should I avoid?

I really really can't wait for next week! ARRRRrrr...I'm just too excited about it.

Ok, enough of the blabbering and I shall get back to work.. Shhhhhh.... I'm at work now blogging.. Xp

COUNTING DOWN 8 DAYS TO OUR 4TH ANNIVERSARY AT HONG KONG!!! YAY!!

DIY - high waist acid washed shorts??!?!

Hello people...
Not bad.. I'm trying to blog more often now, as you can see..
Whoo Hoo... MAINTAIN!!! and I shall continue to gain more extra income... Please click on the adverb if you seen one on the right and top!! *these are not virus!!* And most importantly, visit me more often.. erhem~  ^______^ v

Aright, in this post, I'm gonna share a DIY tutorial today!! HURRAY~ I love DIYs!!!

Its gonna be fun and interesting!! Obviously, this tutorial is on ACID WASH jeans!!! Kinda trendy now.. and because I need it for my performance, blame it on my size, I can't get one that can go with my team. So DIY loh...

LET'S START!!

Its hard to find a high waist jeans/shorts for my unique size, I went to buy guys cut at CK (cheapo max) because normally, guys jeans have higher zip area, in order to make it "like a high waist" shorts.

Basically, you can get any other jeans you like or any old jeans that you like to revamp for this tutorial.

I'm after this kind of color:

..... and so I got myself a very dark blue color to achieve this look~

THE THINGS NEEDED:

1. A pair of jeans/shorts.
2. A sample shorts.
3. Scissors
4. Bleach in spray bottle.

HOW TO DO?!??!!

Step 1:

I'm not sure whats that (arrow pointed) area called, but simply place the sample shorts on top and make sure the pointed area is aligned!

**The sample shorts determined the finished length~ So please find one shorts you have and you are comfortable with.**

It will look something like the above and we are gonna CUT IT!! Following the imaginary "dotted lines"~

Step 2:

CUT IT !! using the sample as a guide, cut the jeans CAREFULLY!!

You will ended up with a very raw end shorts! Now it still looks very OBiang~ But if you don't mind, you can wear it as it is...

 * SERIOUSLY, i'm joking!! *

=_____= " The forever playful boy...

Before we continue to the next step, there are lots of look or design you wanna achieve from acid wash. So you must NOW DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT!!!

By spraying methods you can achieve this kind of look:

It's like a very blended large water mark patches... OR

Like this, small dots like rustic look~

Of course there are a lot more type, like pouring the bleach instead of spraying~ and blah blah blah... depending what you want to achieve.

**To achieve the large water marked look, you will first need to soak the shorts wet before bleaching!!

**To achieve the small dots/rustic look, DO NOT WET the shorts before bleaching!!

OK, now we can proceed to the main step for acid wash! BLEACHING!!!

Step 3:

Spray the bleach on!! Remember NOT TO FOCUS on the same spot over and over again!! Spray evenly on all areas if not you will have patches and it can be ugly~

NOTE: make sure its spraying with tiny water droplet instead of those focusing on an area type.

Step 4:
After the bleaching, wash the shorts a few times with clear water to clean off excessive bleach.. then dry it it!!

And you know what??? Its ready to be wore!!! =)
EASY??!

So this is how mine turns out:

After a few washing, the ends will have the frays and I left it as it is as it look kinda matching with the acid wash effect.. HAH. Alternatively, you can hem it before the bleaching step~

Hope you enjoy doing your own acid wash shorts!! =)
And feel free to share with me your version!!!

ENJOY!!  ^_____^

Dance life and I've made it

After "Stage Without Borders" last Christmas, I've been hoping to strive for another performance on stage!!

Finally there's a chance!

My heart flutters and I'm worried too~ Because no matter what, I'm still not confident enough to take the challenge. I always mind my size and if I'll be clumsy on stage. I wondered how would I look like on the stage.Ugly?? ball-like?? or a distraction of the other dancers.

But this time round, I tried and overcome my fear and gave it a shot. Maybe because I already knew the choreographers as friends before the recital and I'm probably more comfortable??

* Back to basics
* Discipline training
* Learning session from other dancers
... is part of the entire training. It simply pushes me to the next level in dance.

If you miss my last performance, you can watch it here:

I'm glad I overcame my fear and joined it because at least I've the slightest of confidence now to aim for my dream dance performance, Oschool Recital.

More behind the scene photos....

Getting all hyped up early in the morning during the performance day!!

My hair for the performance and below are my hairstylist!! hahahaha...

#1 hairstylist: Shina~ She is uber good with braids!!

#2 hairstylist: Asyraf.. He in charged of my ponytail to make it stand!!!

Photo with this cute lil boy!! he damned cute!! mad <3 td="td">

One of the Choreographer!! SHAUNA!! she is damned awesome~ and she is my inspiration too!! <3 her="her" td="td">

Dinner after the performance!!
My poly cliques who came and supported me!! touched and thank you so much!!!

The entire experience was damned fun too! Maybe because I finally got to dance with my cliques and we are simply a crazy bunch of people. Of course, knowing new crazily fun people like Fiona, Shanice, Dory, Hani, Raizan, Etc...

I definitely have more confidence now!! Until the extreme of going to the audition for O school recital this year!! Crazy right??!?!

Despite my failure last year which I'm very sad about, I still went ahead for the audition this year. Hahahaha... The "NEVER SAY DIE" attitude, like a thick skin only.. But who cares. Even if I failed, at least I tried.

Never try and you'll never know right??!?!

I clearly remember how it was like during the audition! The atmosphere is just DA bomb!! Dance hall  reggae is all about dancing together and the feel~

I do not know why, there's just only a slight anxiety this year as compared to last year. And I FELT IT!!! I FELT THE DANCE!!! It is more like an enjoyment rather than an audition. During that moment, I'm thinking if I sway sway did not get in again, I will not regret coming for the audition because I truly enjoyed the process!!

1-2 weeks passed and its the result! I remembered May and I was on our bus ride home after practice and we checked out the results! I felt sad at first because I only saw her name and a few of those familar names. After May double checked, she also did not see my name~ At the brim of crying, I determined to triple check it again and I SAW IT!!! I'M IN!!!! OMG... Is like my dream came true!!

We screamed for joy on the bus and hugged each other. Tears of happiness dropped and I hopped back home! Hahahaha... Kinda dramatic but I'm indeed that mad happy about it!

May is so nice..As I have some back condition, she described the tough training process she had last year so I could prepare myself for the coming one.

As this is a back dated update, the training actually started about 7 weeks ago and we just had our first vetting 2 weeks ago. Its kinda stressful as the dancers standard is really high and I also have my own expectation to meet. (especially my sucky stamina!!) Hah. PLUS, the choreo is crazy!!!

Ok, Its kinda long now due to my excitement. I SHOULD STOP NOW!! But before that, O school Recital tickets are now open now!!

Grab them now before its gone! As its a seated tickets, good seating are selling fast

SHADED black/red ones are taken.. :(
See no joke right, I took this picture last week! and its only OCTOBER when the show is DECEMBER!!

SO GET YOURS NOW BEFORE YOU REGRET!!!
